The power of the gospel is not a resuscitation to life but resurrection from death to life. Christ makes that claim that he is the resurrection and the life. He raises us to life so that we might believe and by believing we are united to life itself, to Christ. This gives us great hope when we find ourselves in darkness knowing that Christ can and does meet us there.
