The crucifixion of Christ and all that he endured in those final hours of his life reveal his trust in his heavenly Father. Christ was tempted in everyday that we are, and yet was without sin. The path of Christ to the cross was done because we could never do it. Jesus entrusted himself fully to his Father in the midst of temptations. Jesus walked the gauntlet of temptation, the path that we could never make. This journey of Christ was not for him; it was for you and for me.
